How can I obtain and use Emergency Book Credits?

Emergency book credits are only available to students who have pending financial aid awarded through Texas A&M - Commerce. Textbooks

How do I know what books I need?

List of books required & recommended are organized by course. Using our Textbook Ordering section of our website here, choose the course you’re enrolled in to view the books submitted to us by your instructor.

When are books available for the upcoming semester?

Books are available 30 days before classes start. Shop early to get the best selection of new and used books.

When do you start returning unsold textbooks to the publishers?

We begin returning unsold textbooks as early as 3 weeks into the start of the term. Buy all the books you need early to avoid delays in reordering.

  What are Beeline Book Reserves?

Bee-line Textbook Reservations is a service designed to make your textbook-buying easier. You order your books in-store or over the phone by giving us your class schedule. We will pull and bag the right books for your classes. They'll be ready for you to pick up at our East Texas Bookstore location when you arrive on campus.

When can I sell my textbooks back?

You can sell textbooks at anytime. Both bookstore locations buy back textbooks all year. Buyback value is based on the current market value or the bookstore’s supply/demand for each title in the upcoming term. If a book is going to be used the following semester and the bookstore needs copies, students will get 30-50% of the retail price. If the book is not needed for the next term, the used book wholesaler determines the price.

Can I order a textbook that is not listed on the website?

Yes, if you'd like to place a special order, give us a call at 903-886-5830 or 903-886-3148. We’ll need the desired book’s ISBN (International Standard Book Number) and prepayment to place the textbook order.

Can I order a book that is not being used for a class?

Absolutely! Please contact our Textbook department by calling 903-886-5830, 903-886-3148, or email us at [email protected].

What happens if some of the books I order online are not in stock?

We will order any book not in stock. You will receive an email stating that you have a backorder. Usually books that are not in stock during the first week of classes are already on order and may arrive within 24-48 hours of your online order.
When the book comes in, depending upon the shipping option you’ve chosen, we will email you that it is ready for pickup or it has been processed and shipped.

What should I do when a book for my class is sold out?

You can place a prepaid Special Order for the textbook at our Textbook departments in the bookstore, or by calling us 903-886-5830 or 903-886-3148. Special Orders will be available for pick up within 7-10 business days from the date the order is placed, though some sold out textbooks may already be on order and could arrive within 24-48 hours ready for pick-up. Our textbook departments will be able to give an ETA for your prepaid book at the time of order.

How do I rent my books?

Rental textbooks can be paid for using cash, check, credit card or emergency book credits. However, the bookstore will need a valid credit card that expires at least 1 month after the rental due date to be presented at the time of purchase. This credit card will be charged in case the rental book is not returned to the bookstore, or the rental book is returned in non-saleable condition (i.e. water damage, torn out pages, etc.).

All rental customers must read and agree to the bookstore’s rental agreement in order to rent textbooks. Due to the rental agreement, students can only rent books in-store or online, and are not able to rent books over the phone.

How do I return my rental books now that I’m done with the class?

Rental books are due back to the bookstore by the last day of finals. The due date for books rented will also be listed on the customer’s receipt. In advance of their rental due date, customers will receive a text and email reminder to the phone number and email address provided to the bookstore at the time of purchase.

Rental books can be returned in-person to both bookstores. If mailing rental books, customers ship to the following address:

ATTN: Rental Returns
2200 West Neal St.

Commerce, TX 75428

These rental returns need to be postmarked by the rental due date, and contain the customer’s name and phone number within the package.

Should I buy new or used?

Some may want new textbooks free from marks and highlighting. Others may prefer to save by purchasing used textbooks, but they are in high demand, so shop early!

Does the bookstore carry test prep and study aids?

Yes, we carry a wide variety of test prep materials, including study guides for the GRE, GMAT, MCAT, ASVAB, CLEP, TExES and NCLEX-PN exams in our Sam Rayburn Student Center location’s Trade section.

If I drop my class, can I return my textbook?

Students can receive a full refund during the first five (5) days of the semester with a receipt. Thereafter a full refund will only be given through the twelfth (12th) class day with a receipt and a drop slip. Shrink wrapped items must not be opened. After that, you may participate in one of the ‘Buyback’ periods in which you may sell your book back to us a portion of the purchase price.

Why don’t I see my class listed?

You may not have a textbook assigned by your instructor. You can find out what books you need on your first day of class from your professor or by viewing your syllabus.

If you find there is a required text not listed on our site, please email us the required ISBN (International Standard Book Number) with the course information (i.e. ENG 1300.001) to [email protected]. This is so we may update the website information for others viewing the website.

Why is the same book listed twice?

There can be a book being sold individually and a book packaged with an access code or another book. Read the descriptions carefully and select only one. If you aren’t sure which to pick, call the Textbook Department at 903-886-5830 or 903-886-3148 or email us at [email protected].

Is there a way to make sure I get used books?

Buying used textbooks can save you money, however we cannot guarantee used books will be available. We will give you used if we can, but we will give you a new book if a used one is not available. Another good way to save money is to rent textbooks.

General Books

What is the difference between a "trade" book and a "text" book?

Trade books include reference books, TAMU-C authors, best sellers, children's books, religious books, and other general reading books.  However, our Trade Book department may carry several books that supplement class textbooks. Textbooks are books specifically ordered by instructors for use in a class.

Can I special order a trade book that is not in-stock?

Yes, we're glad to special order any book for you. Generally, we can get your book within 1-2 weeks. Prepayment is required and there is an additional fee for express shipping.
Please contact our Trade Book department by calling 903-886-5830 with the desired ISBN (International Standard Book Number) or the book’s author, title & publisher.
